the CV transporter for our "one Roof" event held at the weekend.
The event was held to
celebrate the relocation of the various Mercedes-Benz businesses in the UK
under one roof - at Tongwell, and was open to all employees, their families and
friends. Your transporter had pride of place - with all 2500 people who
attended passing it's location at the entrance to the event.

COMMERCIAL VEHICLE SHOW 2012
Well that's the Show over for another 12 months and what a Show it was! At Brit European we pride ourselves in presenting the right image in everything we do and without doubt the presence at the Show certainly did do us proud. The stand was fantastic and drew an awful lot of positive comments, not only from our customers who visited but also from members of the public and other exhibitors. We also had an outside display where we exhibited two trailers complete with loads and this again was a fantastic success. My thanks go to Rob Wardle and Alan Slattery for their help in getting the vehicles in place. Without them it would not have been possible.

Greg Draper has taken the role as Driver Trainer and joins Rob Wardle and Alan
Slattery in the Training and Quality team. He will primarily be working with the very busy Car Division ensuring that the Quality of the Division remains as high as it is.

PORSCHE RENEWS CONTRACT WITH BRIT EUROPEAN
Porsche (UK) Ltd has renewed its current contract with Brit European for a further 12 months. This involves the collect and delivery of the prestigious motor cars in the UK.
A pat on the back is well deserved for Adam Jones and Darren Bailey from the Car Division for outstanding service and dedication to Porsche (UK) Ltd.

USED VEHICLE SCAM
USED CAR SCAM
The Brit European web site has recently
been compromised by a gang of criminals operating out of Spain (we think) and possibly Germany. They are using the Brit European name and logo and a link to our web site offering the transportation of
used cars which have been sold via their own web site. The criminals have stated that Brit European are their transportation partner for the delivery of cars they have allegedly sold and so far we have had
approximately 20 buyers call or email our offices asking for the whereabouts of
their car. A number of callers have parted with thousands of euros with no hope
of getting their money back or indeed even getting a car. I have put a warning on the Brit European web site warning buyers about buying cars through the bogus web site.
Please be aware and do not part with any monies especially into a fictitious Barclays Bank account. If it sounds too good to be true it probably is!

GAVIN CONNOR AND THE MANCHESTER 10k
Our own Gavin Connor of the High and Heavy Division completed the Manchester 10k Race on the 20th May 2012.
Gav came in with a personal best of 48.19 beating his previous run in Gateshead by 4 minutes. Some interesting facts about the race:

- Out of 40,000 runners Gave came 4,204th
- In his age group he came 516th
- Out of all men he came 3,772nd
So far Gav has raised £195 for MacMillan Cancer Support and still counting

DAY OUT AT CHESTER RACES
The majority of the office staff, management and one or two others are all off to the horse racing meeting at Chester on Saturday 26 May. Here's hoping the weather stay's as good as it has been over the past couple of day's which according to the weather forecast it will. The female members of staff are all talking about new dresses, new shoes, make up and the like whilst the male members can only talk about getting tips for placing bets. The king of the tipsters appears to be Adam Jones, Team Leader of the Car Division however the only tip he has given out so far is not to eat orange snow!
Gavin Connor also seems to know what he is talking about when it comes to horses so he seems a safe bet to stay close to!
